Life Music Northants was developed to offer people on low incomes the opportunity to receive free music lessons.
Everybody irrespective of ability or financial circumstances is entitled to an outlet for performance and coaching on the skills needed to do it. Unfortunately, as with so many opportunities, many are excluded because of the financial costs involved. This is the case for many in our beneficiary area where research has shown us that the project is wanted and experience from other projects has shown us that access to performing, arts and learning is beneficial to holistic well-being. Our project can take participants on a journey of ‘self discovery’. Many of our target participants are currently disengaged and disenfranchised from society. Projects such as these can be instrumental in engaging them. We have further ascertained that the project will effect an improvement of the feeling of equality amongst participants and others, and show prosperous people that others can be capable in their way. It can develop motor skills, teamwork, performance development, musicianship and other performance skills.
